After attending a performance by John Moran at PS122, James and I encountered this violist improvising on the platform across from us in the L train's First Avenue station, with a bit of unexpected dance accompaniment. This is a station where you can't cross over to the other side without going back to the street, or we would have moved over there to give him some money and talk to him. i've seen him at that station frequently over the past year.... i'm always enchanted by his playing... its a great spell to fall under.
