Wingnut alert

I'm getting a wingnut posting on my Hussein post. Should I just delete him? I love the idea of people that think World Net Daily is a reliable news source and that there are obvious links between Iraq and Al Quaeda, but the BBC is a crazy thing to use for a news source.

I say shut him off, but I'm prejudiced, since I have to clean up his messes on my site too.

Geez, and I was so hoping for a worthy challenger for a change.

Honey, I feel for you. I say keep him, but only because he makes me laugh.

Funny how “patriotic” Americans are cheering the capture of a man that America constructed, eh?

This reminds me why I haven't been extremely motivated to put comments back up on my site.

These are two reasons that I love Google:

It is my pleasure to share this press release with you. Andrew Baron grew up
at TRT, and is now working as an artist in New York City.

Anti - Anti

Work by: Andrew David Baron

The "Art World" has often found inspiration in the social and political
spheres. During war time and international conflicts, an artist is
frequently seen as a commentator - reflecting their world and ethos in their
work. Art may be beautiful or thought-provoking but does not require a
factual basis - just a voice.

The voice of the contemporary "Art World" has frequently aligned itself with
the notion of the unspoken, subjugated or deficient - frequently
romanticizing a struggle. Objectivity is never an ideal. It is not a
question of whether the "Art World" is just in their representation - they
are not claiming to be journalists - but rather, who gets to have a voice.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Since
the start of the current "Intifada," many New York museums and galleries
have showcased the conflict in solo and group exhibitions - featuring Arab
and pro-Arab artists. There has not been a single Israeli or pro-Israeli
exhibit. Many European museums and galleries have gone further, banning
shows of any Israeli artist. In both instances, only Arabists are given a
voice.

The Anti-Anti series utilizes semantic portraits of media personalities,
international leaders and political pundits to explore the social and
political spheres of the "Art World" - asking the audience to question the
difference between political art and propaganda, artists' motivations and
artistic truth versus fact.

Wolficus Domesticus (stupid)

and that ladies and gentlemen, is the last straw

andrew baron has been deleted from the the list, and banned from it in case
he tries to rejoin

this was a tough move on my part, one of the reasons i formed this list(as
well as the ObjectSubject list)was to get away from adminstrative moves
but i was left no choice

his comments served no good, which in itself isnt that bad, but he was
beligerent, insulting, rude, crude, well , you get the point

thank you all you contacted me privately(off list), letting me how you felt

i certainly hope the list gets back on track, now that the resident heckler
has been removed

thank you all for taking part in this wonderful forum

Typical Liberal reaction...censor what YOU don't want to hear...or even have a conversation about...

I fail to see how I am censoring you, Andrew. I think you don't realize I know you from A.R.T. Given the intellectual dishonesty and ad hominem attacks you are making, I don't see why I should waste web space on you.

I hadn't remembered your last name, so I didn't recognize it at first. I found your "show" at A.R.T. to be an embarrasment, and not even worthy of the word agitprop. It was stupid and racist.

I don't have a problem with debating people that have some basis in reality for their viewpoints, but I just don't see that happening here.

You're the one saying things like "I think there is an empty hole near Tikrit, Iraq...when the news comes out...why don't you and your ilk go in and shut the top."

You think I am afraid that you did some "research" on my name? That is why I used that email address. I know what is out there about myself. I just happened to come across this website and decided to make a comment...it is a "blogger" you know.

I was VERY proud to do that show at A.R.T. I stood my ground, had my show and gave my 2 cents. That show came under a lot of protest from people viewing it to even some of the workers at the gallery. I can careless what people think of me personally...I stand my ground.

I can't believe you guys are getting aso worked up by a fellow Democrat...I can just imagine how you are around Republicans...geez

Andrew B.

I guess what you say is the end. I guess that having a difference in opinion is god aweful.

I really like the personal attack on my work...very professional. Big word usage...quite bombastic oh wait that is bombastic by using the word bombastic....oh how meta of me...oh how clever.

I don't care if you knew or found out who I am.

Hey...guess what...

I STAND MY GROUND.

This guy sounds like a fucking schmuck, and someone who will continue to say the same exact thing forever and ever. Shut that shit down.

Oh BTW...how was the 'show', as you put it, racist?

I said no derogatory remarks about a certain culture, race, ethnicity, etc...

Please 'enlighten' me on how it was racist...

Because I CHALLENGE the character and intergrity of certain people, countries, organizations, and ideas I am now a racist?

If you want to say it is stupid...that's an 'acceptable' critque...however sophmoric, ignorant and innane it may be...but nonetheless acceptable.

Calling a person or his / her work racist is a strong comment...maybe you were in the heat of passion...a temporary loss of judgement.

Sort of like when a shark goes in for the kill...his eyelids close over the eyes making him blind...but the smell of blood GUIDES him to his prey.

I know...I know...clever metaphor

I, Sir (and I use that term loosely here), am NO racist...in fact as I stated on another part of this 'blogger' I am in the process of learning Arabic...

Learning how to speak it, write it, and think it.

Not just that...but i am learning Farsi (Persian), Hebrew, Polish, Russian, Japanese and a few others...

And yes I am serious. Ask Hideki from A.R.T. the next time you see him.

I am learning these languages and cultures because...hey guess what...I RESPECT THEM.

So let me get this straight...you are allowed to be critical with this country, administration, etc...but I can't be critical with terrorists, the UN, etc....because you think I know nothing about these people or organizations? I mean do you really think I did not do ANY research for that show?

Oh wait let me guess now you are going to question my sources of research....

This arguement (*note to Barry - this has now digressed into an arguement...as if it ever were a conversation.) will become tautological.

I found the show quite anti-Arab and anti-Muslim, Andrew. Perhaps you were looking for a more nuanced way of expressing yourself, but you failed.

I can't really debate racism with someone who told me at his opening that he considers Little Green Footballs a good source of information on the Middle East.

I've banned your IP address, and I will delete any further posts.
