My quote for 2003

Tyranny is the absence of complexity.

Complexity loses elections.

There there isn't much point in having them, which seems to be the direction we're headed anyway. The NYSE should just hold a meeting and decide for us.

Our campaigns have gotten more stupid, and more focused on who believes more in God, which should not be an inevitable process.

Why do you still bother to pay attention if you really think that?

Sorry, I guess I should have been more explicit in what I mean. Complicated messages don't resonate and don't get swing voters to the polls. However, a well-thought out ideology can and must be the starting place for the soundbites that ultimately do get voters.

It is a challenge to distill complex ideas into simple messages, but it can be done.
